if you don't turn in the teacher recommendation and transcript but do turn in application and portfolio by the computer animation application deadline, will you be considered or not at all?

You need your highschool transcripts to be considered, I believe.

Says it on the website.

We must receive ALL of your application materials, including Common Application form, Ringling College Supplement, transcripts, Teacher/College Instructor Evaluation Form, College or Secondary School Report OR second Teacher/College Instructor Evaluation Form, and electronically-submitted portfolio by Jan. 15, or you will be too late!

Sorry to break it to you, but at Ringling a due date is a due date whether it be for admissions or assignments once you're actually a student.

I have heard of only one exception to the strict due date rule, and this person had a particularly impressive portfolio. I'd say if you really want to, give it a shot and submit it ASAP, but don't be surprised and/or discouraged if they reject you anyway, just try again next year.

This might sound harsh, but CA is ridiculously competitive to get into. Why consider someone who didn't get admission materials submitted on time when there are 300+ other applicants who did...?
